Betclic Ready to Re-Enter Belgium Market?

Belgium news sources have reported that French sports betting operator Betclic Everest Group (Betclic) is collaborating with the national Gambling Commission with a view of re-entering the market. The operator has had a troubled history with Belgium’s authorities who in February 2014 seized €600,000 of Betclic funds, stating that the unlicensed operator had breached gambling laws by digitally transacting with national consumers. French licensed and Malta operated Betclic has been on the national operator blacklist since 2012. Players Fined for BetClic Activities in Belgium

The Belgian Gaming Commission (Kansspelcommissie) has issued fines to 79 players who took part in gambling activities on unlicensed website BetClic.com. Operated by BetClic Everest, the website is licensed in various other countries, but has not yet acquired a licence in the Belgian market. Although players will face fines of just €200 ($233), the Kansspelcommissie now plans to target other punters that placed larger bets on the website. Yggdrasil launches in Belgium and Estonia with Unibet

Online games developer Yggdrasil Gaming has gone live with internet gaming operator Unibet in the regulated markets of Belgium and Estonia. The move comes after Unibet last month integrated Yggdrasil’s entire casino games portfolio, which will now be launched in the two countries. GTECH awarded 10-year National Lottery of Belgium contract

iGaming Business – Interactive gaming software and services provider GTECH has been awarded a 10-year online gaming, systems, terminals and integration contract to provide end-to-end services for the National Lottery of Belgium (NLB). Playtech to leave Belgium market
