666Bet Officially Out of UK

The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has confirmed that 666Bet is to cease operations in the UK market after it was revealed that parent company Metro Play is to be wound up. As reported by iGaming Business, 666Bet has not been operational in the UK since March when both the online gaming operator and Metro Play had their licences suspended by the UKGC . Customers were unable to access their accounts and withdraw funds, although payment processor Skrill was later drafted in to assist with the withdrawal process. Online gambling advertising spikes British public concerns

iGaming Business – Two thirds of the British public are concerned about the amount of advertising for online gambling, according to new research by digital marketing firm IgnitionOne and polling organisation ComRes. The ‘Betting on Digital’ report polled over 2,000 people, 604 of which are active or previous online gamblers, and conducted interviews with 11 senior marketers in the sector. The majority of marketers interviewed in the report placed great emphasis on the need to target the right audience, while the perceived success of this among the public is limited, with just 21% stating that advertising for online gaming targets…
