Connecticut Casino Bill to Become Law

Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy plans to sign a bill into law creating a multi-step process for possibly opening a new tribal casino along the Connecticut border to fight out-of-state gambling competition. Malloy spokesman Mark Bergman told The Associated Press the “governor fully intends to sign it into law.” The bill was not ready to be signed Friday. Reuters – Japan’s parliament will likely start discussing next week a bill to legalise casino gambling although proponents may hold off voting until the autumn in a strategic move to prevent opponents from killing it, a key supporter of the bill said on Tuesday. New Hampshire House To Vote On Casino Bill

In an effort to keep pace with neighboring Massachussets, the bill would allow 5,000 slot machines and 150 table games at an already existing gambling facility.
