Could the Addition of Bale Turn Spurs into Title Contenders?

It is hard to look past Jürgen Klopp’s title defenders Liverpool when predicting who will come out on top again in the 2020-21 Premier League season. However, the Reds don’t represent value for bettors as they are odds-on to claim another victory. For this reason, it may be shrewd to consider which other teams have a realistic chance of toppling the Merseyside giants. Tottenham Hotspur have just brought in one of the world’s most potent attackers in Gareth Bale, and the Welshman has been a trophy magnet in his glittering career. Could his addition push Spurs on to an unlikely…

Las Vegas Raiders Creeps Closer to Reality

Mark Davis was beaming as he posed with fans behind a black and silver “Las Vegas Raiders” banner. He made a few jokes before delivering a $500 million commitment to a new stadium in the city for his team. Then the owner of the Raiders got serious about the prospects of getting fellow NFL owners to allow him to move from Oakland to a city the league has long shunned because it has legal sports betting. “Let’s give them an offer they can’t refuse,” Davis said. “They’re going to approve it based on that.”  Little more than an idea a…

England Had Worst Record for Match-Fixing this Season

More match-fixing took place in England than anywhere else this season, according to a damning report presented at the European Parliament on Tuesday. Eleven English games were found to have fallen victim to betting fraud by Federbet, an organisation of top European casino owners and bookmakers which monitors suspicious gambling patterns. That was more than was identified in any other country, providing a devastating blow to English football’s reputation for integrity. Ten of the fixtures named by Federbet took place in the Conference North and South, the level of the game at which an investigation by the Telegraph last year…
