Interpol Ends Use of Fifa Funds

International criminal police organisation Interpol has opted to end the use of funds provided by Fifa due to an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption at football’s global governing body. As reported by iGaming Business, Interpol in 2011 entered into a partnership with Fifa as part of a joint effort to combat corruption in sport. Under the agreement, Fifa provided a donation of €20m ($22.4m) to enable the creation of a 10-year ‘Integrity in Sport’ programme.
