Arkansas Illegal Gambling Gets SWAT Response

A month long investigation into illegal gambling dens in Arkansas led to a SWAT Team raid, five arrests, 12 gambling machines and over $60,000 being seized. A confidential informant told investigators that gambling was taking place at two pool halls in Fort Smith. In Arkansas, gambling is legal only at three licensed casinos. Captain Philip Pevehouse of the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Department said that gambling occurred in backrooms of these pool halls. Idaho Rules Fantasy Sports “Illegal Gambling”

DraftKings and FanDuel stopped offering paid daily fantasy sports contests in Idaho on Monday after an agreement with the state attorney general, the second such agreement between a state and the top sites in a week. The sites pulled out of Alabama following a similar agreement. Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden issued a press release regarding the agreement with FanDuel and DraftKings, after “three months of negotiations.” The agreement took effect after May 1, per the AG’s office. Illegal Gambling Gets Six Aussies Arrested

Six Australians and a one person from New Zealand have reportedly been arrested in Thailand over an illegal gambling operation. Police used an undercover informant to place bets at the Ned Kelly Bar at Valentine’s Guest House in Pattaya on May 10th, the Pattaya Mail reported. The bets were made on Australian horse races broadcast over the internet onto large-screen televisions. Police raided the bar this month and arrested New Zealander Philip Smith, 59, who is allegedly the operator, and six Australians.
