Amaya currently expects to conduct an interim testing period with the DGE and a beta period for a limited player base beginning in mid-March. “PokerStars is the global leader in online poker and trusted by its customers for its robust and innovative technology, world-class security and game-integrity. New Attack on U.S. Online Gambling in the Works

Washington politicians are reportedly hatching a plan to impose a moratorium on further expansion of intrastate online gambling. GamblingCompliance scribe Chris Krafcik recently reported that US federal politicians were discussing plans to introduce legislation that would call for a study of the pros and cons of online gambling. While this study was being conducted, legislators would seek a moratorium on any states joining Delaware, Nevada and New Jersey in passing intrastate online gambling legislation. The plan is reportedly seen as a more viable alternative to the Restoration of America’s Wire Act (RAWA), the Sheldon Adelson-backed legislation that would make most…

U.S. Facing Poker Sites Keep on Rollin’

While the world’s regulated online poker market has shrunk by 23% over the past two years, US-friendly sites have been experiencing some impressive growth over the same period of time and continue to outperform their licensed competitors. Bodog, for instance, has grown by 43%, the Winning Poker Network (WPN) by 77%, and the Chico Poker Network by an impressive 125%, raising the question whether it is these sites innovations or their virtual monopoly over the US market which is driving their traffic forward. Bodog was one of the first operators to recognize the damage done by online grinders relieving amateur…

Lottery May be Key to U.S. Regulated Online Gambling

The Sheldon Adelson-inspired Restoration of America’s Wire Act, introduced in the House of Representatives by Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), would deal a severe blow to the fight for online poker regulation in the US if it were to be enacted. Just how severe depends largely upon the final language itself, as there are expected to be several ‘carve outs’ before it could pass. But could an anticipated exemption for state lotteries leave a large door open for hopeful online poker players? Delaware was the first state to enact online gaming, and by approaching it through their state lottery, it would seem…

Don’t Bet On Internet Gambling Ban

Forbes – Anointment of the 2016 Republican presidential nominee is far off, but one thing already seems clear: Sheldon Adelson will have the victor’s full attention. The billionaire CEO of Las Vegas Sands recently convened a meeting in Las Vegas to which likely contenders for the nomination flocked. They covet the massive scale of financial support that Adelson lavished on Newt Gingrich, and later Mitt Romney, in 2012. “Everybody knows that, behind closed doors, politicians often sell themselves to the highest bidder; this time, they were doing it in public, as if vending their wares at a live auction,” commented…

E-Payment Revolution Bypasses the U.S.

Wall Street Journal – These days it’s easier than ever to pay for goods and services – without cash, card, pen or paper featuring anywhere near the transaction. Most financial obligations can even be met with just a few taps on a smartphone screen. But for American businesses, the old-fashioned paper check remains the preferred payment method, writes CFO Journal’s Vipal Monga, and that legacy comes at a cost. A survey last September by the Association for Financial Professionals found U.S businesses still pay half their bills by check. “In this day and age it doesn’t make sense,” says Mr….
