Caesars Entertainment will tap the Montreal market for gambling customers by combining hotel packages with new charter flights between Atlantic City and upstate New York. Service from Plattsburgh, N.Y., to Atlantic City International Airport will begin April 23 and run through August using jets operated by Republic Airways, which handles air charters for Caesars’ casino hotels across the country. Garry Douglas, president of the North Country Chamber of Commerce in Plattsburgh, noted that the summer charter flights will extend Caesars’ reach into the potentially lucrative Montreal metropolitan market consisting of 3.5 million people. “We are Montreal’s U.S. airport,” Douglas said…
Bitstars launches ‘provably fair’ Bitcoin casino
Augmented Reality services provider Bitstars has announced the launch a new “provably fair” Bitcoin casino. Offering a range of games already available in the traditional online gaming market, the company said the new Bitstars.net casino offers the added benefits associated with the Bitcoin virtual currency. Bitstars said the new service utilities crypto technology, which means players can see and verify that the game has not been tampered with using the hashing system, as neither they nor the casino software can alter the game after the hash has been sent without it being visible upon checking. How Big Could Macau’s Gaming Market Be in a Decade?
Motley Fool – Macau’s gaming market is now seven times the size of the Las Vegas Strip and outgrew the Sin City 18.5% to 4.8% in 2013. So, we should at least be pondering if there’s an upper limit to how large the market can grow. It’s the growth of Macau’s overall market that will really drive Las Vegas Sands, Wynn Resorts, Melco Crown, and MGM Resorts over the next few years. Lonnie Reed, principal of Themed Development Management LLC, out of Simi Valley, Calif., categorized the ride’s testing as some of the most stringent he’s seen in 47 years in the theme park business. But with good reason. “We’re building in the safest city, the safest county in the world with the most stringent…

For some, winning money means hitting a jackpot. For others, it means just coming out ahead. As a rule, the higher you set your expectations the less your chances of walking out the door happy. Jackpots are not easy to hit. Chasing them is a recipe for disaster. Knowing that there is always next time is the one rule of thumb casino goers should always remember. It’s a far…
Horse racing’s big problems
Park City Daily News – On Kentucky Derby night 2012 someone murdered Adan Perez. The groom’s body was found in a backside barn at Churchill Downs. No arrest has happened, and almost two years later the case has grown cold. This sad and unresolved situation is symbolic of so much in thoroughbred horse racing now. Despite plenty of positive (as chronicled in a preceding column) there are several serious problems that prevent racing from reaching its full potential and returning to its past position in the pantheon of America’s most popular sports. One stark reminder of racing’s darker side is…
