Las Vegas Covid Requirements Begin
Amid the Delta variant surge of Coronavirus, many are wondering if Las Vegas Covid testing and vaccine proof will become a requirement at casinos. The Centers for Disease Control is reporting that Harrah’s Casino in New Orleans has become the first in the nation to require guests to show this proof before being allowed to enter. The property is owned and operated by Caesars Entertainment. However, the New Orleans decision comes amidst new vaccine requirements from the mayor. Those requirements also apply to indoor dining, bars, and other forms of indoor entertainment. Those who want access to those establishments will…
Nevada Gaming Revenue Falls Amid Covid Return
Despite Las Vegas casinos returning to full capacity, Nevada gaming revenue fell 3.3% in the month of June. The reporting of this fall coincides with the return of the new Coronavirus Delta variant which has been causing concerns of returning restrictions and the possibility of another Las Vegas casino closure. Despite this seemingly bad news, the fall in revenue may simply be a result of the record $1.23 billion set in May. With that in mind, a 3.3% drop still found that casinos in Sin City still managed to bring in $1.19 billion in June, according to figures provided by…
Treasure Island to Launch Social Online Casino
It may not be actual online gambling, but Treasure Island has entered an agreement to launch an online casino with social games. The games will be powered by the Gan’s GameSTACK software and integrated into the casino rewards program. Even though web based gambling is expanding all over the country, Nevada regulators have yet to give the green light to any online gambling in the state, outside of poker. A representative from Treasure Island stated that it is clear that the “…digital space will become more and more important in the future.” So, a partnership with GAN made sense for…

What about social distancing and capacity limits? Could a Las Vegas shut down really happen again? Well hello, all my friends out there! And thanks so much for taking the time to stream another edition of This Week in Gambling, where things in Nevada are developing rather quickly… with…
The Push for More Vegas Vaccination Sites
Amid the rapid spread of the Delta variant, increased Las Vegas vaccination sites are being pushed by the Convention and Visitors Authority. And they are working with casinos and an advertising agency to get the word out. Clark County was recently declared to be a sustained hot spot for Coronavirus by the White House. The city was added to the list of areas where there is increased concern about the transmission rate of COVID. Last week, Coronavirus cases across Nevada increased by 23% while Covid related hospitalizations rose 7%. This has lead the Governor to reinstate a face mask mandate…
Some Jurisdictions Issue Las Vegas Travel Warning
As the new Delta Variant of the Coronavirus surges, multiple jurisdictions within the country have issued a Las Vegas travel warning. Earlier this past week, cases in Nevada showed nearly a 25% jump over the previous week, with hospitalizations rising seven percent. Even worse, the weekly average for new cases per day in Clark County was up 74% from two weeks ago. Local governments in California, Illinois, and Hawaii have issued a Las Vegas travel warning for their residents. Even the White House has now added Sin City to its “areas of concern” list as a sustained hot spot for…
