80% of Players Won’t Visits Casinos This Year
A survey of over 4,000 casino players in America and Great Britain has found that eight of every ten are very concerned about their safety when it comes to visiting casinos and other attractions. Specifically, over 50% of the gamblers in the group stated that technology will play a major role in their decision to visit again, and that nearly 30% will only patronize casinos that have a no-contact experience available. With the big game now in the books, the normally busy Super Bowl betting in Las Vegas was pretty quiet this year. Yet another victim of the Coronavirus pandemic. Golden Gate Casino 115th Anniversary in Las Vegas
The Golden Gate Casino and Hotel celebrated 115 years on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas yesterday. The property is owned and managed by Circa Resorts. Circa owner Derek Stevens celebrated the anniversary Friday and credited their work with Golden Gate as preparing his team to develop other downtown properties, The D and the newly opened Circa Resort and Casino. Vegas Casino Workers to Receive Covid Vaccine
In an effort to get the state’s economy back on track, Vegas casino workers will be some of the first to get the Covid vaccination as “essential workers”. The Employment Department estimates there are more than 300,000 people working in the leisure and hospitality industry at the end of last year, which accounts for about a quarter of the state’s total workforce. Nevada has made the decision to move gaming industry workers up on the list of people who can receive the COVID-19 vaccination, and the Gaming Control Board wants to learn if workers who have direct contact with tourists…
Las Vegas Sands Profits Fall $2 Billion in 2020
Shortly after the passing of Sheldon Adelson, we now learn that Las Vegas Sands profits fell nearly $2.2 billion last year, thanks in large part to the pandemic and diminishing tourism to Nevada. Room revenue fell almost 73% while food and beverage revenue was down 69%. Earnings from their conventions and retail shops fell 67%. Company revenue fell over 70% last year to just $3.6 billion, which the company said was a direct result of the Novel Coronavirus.
