After making a modest entry in the U.S., William Hill’s Nevada expansion will include seven additional sports books across the state. The regulatory approval comes from the Nevada Gaming Control Board, which has issued approval and recommendations about the upcoming betting venues of the operator, citing places in Las Vegas and Laughlin. There will be other sites in North Las Vegas, Reno and throughout the Stateline region, next to the border with California. New York Sports Betting Bill Back for 2019

The state Gaming Commission will meet to discuss a New York sports betting bill for land-based casinos on January 28, 2019. An agenda published ahead of the meeting states that the Commission will look at proposed rules for regulating the industry. The Commission did not go into detail as to what it will specifically focus on at the meeting, but it will be the first time that the regulatory body will officially discuss potential rules and regulations for the vertical. Tribal Sports Betting Gets Traction in Arizona

Arizona lawmakers will run the rule over a new bill that would legalize land-based Tribal sports betting within the state but prohibit betting on collegiate sporting events. Put forward by Senator Sonny Borrelli and Representatives Mark Finchem and Leo Biasiucci, SB 1158 sets out that each federally recognised tribe in Arizona with headquarters in the state would be able to offer sports betting. Washington DC Sports Betting Approved by Mayor

Washington DC sports betting has moved a step closer after Mayor Muriel Bowser effectively signaled a two-month countdown to the Sports Wagering Lottery Amendment Act coming into law. Bowser approved the act January 23, just over a month after the DC Council voted overwhelmingly in favor of the legislation. Following the mayors approval, the act will now undergo a 60-day Congressional review before coming into force.
