YouTubers Beware: Music Nations Network is a Huge Scam
Like most video producers who use YouTube, I really want to get my content seen and grow my channel. I am not interested in fake views that get videos pulled down. I am not interested in fake subscribers to inflate my ego. In fact, I am not interested in anything fake when it comes to my business. Sadly, however, I stumbled upon possibly the biggest fake of them all: Music Nations Network! This den of thieves contacted me last August with a great sales pitch. They would help me grow my audience by adding my content to their “network” and,…
Connecticut Casino Bill to Become Law
Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy plans to sign a bill into law creating a multi-step process for possibly opening a new tribal casino along the Connecticut border to fight out-of-state gambling competition. Malloy spokesman Mark Bergman told The Associated Press the “governor fully intends to sign it into law.” The bill was not ready to be signed Friday. Under the bill, the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan tribes would issue a request for proposals, or RFP, from municipalities interested in hosting one satellite casino to compete with the MGM Resorts casino planned in Springfield, Massachusetts. That request would be posted on…
Wynn and MGM Merger Speculation
Shares of Las Vegas-based casino operator Wynn Resorts ended Thursday’s trading day up over 7%, making it TheStreet’s Move of the Day. The reason was merger speculation. TheStreet’s Jim Cramer, portfolio manager of the Action Alerts PLUS Charitable Trust Portfolio, noted on CNBC there is speculation of a Wynn merger with Las Vegas-based competitor MGM Resorts International. Wynn’s first-quarter earnings, released in late April, included earnings per share of 70 cents, falling short of the consensus estimate. Revenue slumped almost 28% year over year to $1.09 billion. Revenue from Wynn’s Macau properties, a major casino hub in China, dropped nearly…
Two New Bills to Boost Nevada Sports Betting
Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval has signed two new bills that could help boost the US state’s sports betting industry. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper, the state’s sports betting industry already attracts approximately $3.9 billion (€3.5 billion) in wagers each year. However, the two new bills, which were this week signed into law by Sandoval, could potentially increase this figure. Senate Bill 443 will authorise the formulation of business entities to place race and sports pool wagers, with investors allowed to join business entities and share profits and losses from large wagers at Nevada sports books. In addition, Senate…

AGA ‘Troubled’ by Ban on Credit Cards at Casinos
A recent report that found federal employees improperly used government credit cards at casinos could have unnecessary consequences for the gaming industry, the American Gaming Association warned today. In a May 19 report, the Department of Defense Inspector General’s Office said it discovered hundreds of thousands of dollars in transactions where department card holders probably used their cards at gambling halls and “adult entertainment establishments” for personal purposes. The report made several recommendations, including that the government consider blocking cards from being used at specific casinos or adult entertainment businesses. The gaming association is taking issue with that recommendation. Geoff…
