Mirage Giving Away Cash Before Closing

You’ve probably heard by now that the Mirage is closing soon. But what may be a surprise is the Mirage giving away cash before they shut their doors on the 17th of this month. And what’s even more surprising is that they are required to do so by state  law! How’s that for a kick in the pants? Nevada regulations state that all progressive jackpots must be paid out before they can officially shut their doors. That comes to $1.6 million that will be given out as winnings paid on slot machines before July 16th. What does that mean for…

Will Tao Las Vegas be Completed Next to Venetian?

There’s never a shortage of rumors in Las Vegas… and this is a good one. Perhaps you’ve already heard the rumblings that Tao Las Vegas will take over the abandoned hotel tower at the Venetian. And if not, now you have. Some Sin City insiders have noticed strange happenings around the property lately, and their thought is that a new “boutique” style hotel will soon join the Strip. The exact location we’re discussing is on the Venetian property. The abandoned Marco Polo Tower, to be precise. Construction of that proposed third tower began well over a decade ago, and it’s…

Lexi Las Vegas Back on the Market

It was back in May of last year that we featured the Lexi Las Vegas in an article on this site. We were excited to possibly feature Lexi Las Vegas in one of our videos, even offering to show up and film…

Well, that’s about to change. Known as Project Mojave in county planning documents, the Bellagio expansion will introduce a three-story plaza that extends from the hotel’s main entrance to Las Vegas Boulevard. Local architecture firm Marnell Architecture will handle…

Update on Tropicana Las Vegas

It’s been a while since we reported on what’s happening at Tropicana Las Vegas. The resort officially closed its doors on April 2nd of this year, and since that time we’ve seen them bring in moving vans, auction off furniture, and put up safety fences. But a walk past the property today reveals that the building is almost a skeleton of what it used to be. Visitors can actually see right through the building now. So where do we go from here? Now, what’s left of Tropicana Las Vegas echos with the sounds of construction crews and wrecking balls. The…
