Former Amaya CEO Liquidates Company Shares

Amaya Gaming’s former CEO David Baazov has some new walking around money after selling nearly one-third of his stake in the online gambling company. On Tuesday, Baazov (pictured) announced that he’d sold 7m Amaya common shares at C$19 apiece for a total consideration of C$133m (US $99m). The sale represents about 4.8% of the company’s outstanding common shares and about 30% of Baazov’s holdings in Amaya, the parent company of online poker giant PokerStars. A poll at the recently held Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) found that efforts by Las Vegas Sands CEO Sheldon Adelson to ban online gambling at the federal level are highly unpopular. The Institute for Liberty recently released the data from the high-profile conservative gathering that took place in February. Swiss Move to Blocking Illegal Online Gambling

The Swiss parliament has voted in favour of a measure that requires internet service providers in the country to begin blocking access to illegal gambling websites. The lower section of the House of Representatives yesterday (Wednesday) gave its approval to the plan after the upper house had previously given the green light to the proposal.
