Impressive Q1 Profits for Caesars Interactive
US operator Caesars Acquisition Company has said that its Caesars Interactive Entertainment business unit was able to achieve “impressive” results during the three months through to March 31. Net revenue generated by the Caesars Interactive division amounted to $176.6 million (€156.2 million) in the first quarter, which represents an increase of 42.2% on the $124.2 million posted in the same period last year. Income from operations rocketed by 666% to $40.6 million while net income from continuing operations also shot up by 992% to $27.3 million. Steve Wynn Still Opposes Internet Poker
In an interview on Nevada political program “Ralston Reports”, billionaire casino owner Steve Wynn touched on a number of topics concerning the U.S. gaming industry and said that he is still against real-money casino games on the Internet. “I believe that Internet gaming is not going to happen in any way that is meaningful for Las Vegas,” Wynn said. PokerStars Retroactive Change to Affiliate Terms
The world’s largest online poker site is set to make a drastic – and retroactively applicable – change to its affiliate program. That’s per an email from PokerStars to affiliates (included in full below) announcing that as of June 1st, revenue share will only be paid on referred players for the first two years of the player’s activity. The previous terms saw affiliates credited with revenue share for the lifetime of the player. The change applies to new and existing referrals. Online gaming operator 888 has reportedly struck a deal with land-based facility the Mount Airy Casino Resort to provide internet gaming services in the US state of Pennsylvania. Although Pennsylvania does not currently allow online gaming, a number of bills have been introduced in the state in an effort to regulate such activity. California’s First Online Poker Win
iGaming Business – Online poker supporters in California are celebrating a step forward for legalisation in the US state. The Assembly Governmental Organisation Committee (GO) voted unanimously in favor of advancing AB 431, sponsored by Assemblymember Adam Gray.
