Time for a tough talk on Delaware gambling
Delaware Online – Delaware still has not cured its gambling problem. The state remains dependent on a casino levy that grows more vulnerable every time a competitor opens its doors across the state line. A series of recommendations from a state task force will help keep Delaware’s three casinos alive, but the proposals will not solve the revenue problem. The recommendation would cost the state about $9.9 million in the next fiscal year. The panel’s proposals are not guaranteed…

But the law currently requires them to attest that they have a gambling problem. The bill, passed by a 77-0 vote, would let people sign up for the lists without having to admit they are compulsive gamblers. “This is simply another option for those who want…

Overall, spending in the Android Google Play Store increased in Q4 2014 by four times when compared to the same period the year before. iOS App Store spending also increased, doubling the figures achieved in Q4 2012 this year. In total, global revenue generated in…

The Swedish gambling market has become ever more competitive in recent years since the Swedish government relaxed rules restricting other companies from operating in the country. The state-owned Svenska Spel has dominated the market, arguably creating a monopoly in Swedish gaming. However in recent years, the government has let privately-owned businesses operate in the country, ensuring that even during the recent economic downturn the industry remained unaffected. Despite the Swedish Government’s strict regulation of the gambling industry, other companies have been able to profit from the gap in the market left by Svenska Spel. Despite the giant’s dominance of the…
