Interest in Internet gambling is increasing in New Jersey
Press of Atlantic City – Less than 3 percent of New Jersey gamblers have gambled online since the state launched Internet gambling last year, according to a poll released Thursday. The poll conducted by the Lloyd D. Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey surveyed 690 individuals who gambled in Atlantic City casinos in the past year. Legal Online Gambling is Next Major Bitcoin Market
The international legal online gambling industry is an estimated $30 billion market, and growing. More importantly for Bitcoin, it’s a global market that depends on fast, irreversible payments. Just like a ordinary casino chip in any land-based casino, digital bitcoin provides privacy, immediacy, and payment finality. Unlike most typical consumer purchases (where returns and charge backs are usually legitimate), a wager is a one-way transaction. Of course, you may be dissatisfied with the outcome, but that does not justify a reimbursement. The online gambling industry has struggled with this fact for years. Massachusetts Lottery Wants To Test Free-Play Online Poker
Card Player – On Tuesday, lottery officials in the state of Massachusetts reportedly asked lawmakers to say OK to it testing the viability of offering Internet gambling. Massachusetts is in the middle of figuring out who should be able to build new Las Vegas-style casinos in the state, one in three geographical regions. “We are not proposing to offer these games to our players with an actual cash transaction, nor are we seeking any appropriation to fund such operations,” Lottery Assistant Executive Director Beth Bresnahan told the Committee on Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, according to reporting from State House…
New Bitcoin Sportsbook CoinBet Debuts in Times Square
Gambling 911 – A new bitcoin-only sportsbook made its debut smack in the middle of Times Square this past week, advertising on the Reuters interactive billboard. Coinbet.cc is one of the newest online gambling sites to enter the lucrative bitcoin Web gaming market. This appears as if it will become a pretty significant trend as we move forward into 2014. But it could prove to be a dangerous one as well. Americas Cardroom, one of the largest online poker networks still catering to citizens of North America, recently implemented a bitcoin platform to its expanding list of cashier methods, but…
