State legislators are to hold hearings this week on a bill that could legalize Washington State sports betting after decades of it being banned. Lawmakers are considering a bill that could lead to Texas sports betting regulation for both online and mobile. Introduced by Representative Eddie Lucio III, H 1725 would make a total of five permits available in the state. Each permit would be designated with two skins. These permits would each cost $250,000, while operators that secure approval would pay 6.25% in tax on their sports betting handle. This would be collected on a monthly basis. The casino received permission from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to begin so-called “soft-play” testing of equipment and systems for online sports betting, and did so last week.
