The Gaming Control Board met last week and approved proposed Pennsylvania sports betting regulations, but they won’t be up and running by the September start of the National Football League season. Pennsylvania introduced laws for sports betting under bill HB 271 around 10 months ago, but is yet to pass general regulations in the wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling on PASPA. A British bookmaker has opened talks over a potential joint venture with Penn National, as a William Hill US expansion becomes more likely. Last week, the US sports betting movement continued its march forward as an NBA gambling partnership was signed with MGM Resorts International.
