Lesniak Addresses Online Gambling Marketing

Online gambling marketing in New Jersey has been “amateurish” so far. This according to New Jersey State Senator Raymond Lesniak, who is attending the iGaming North America Conference currently taking place in Las Vegas is a place. That conference has been billed as a place for industry insiders to dabble in prognostication, learning from one another, to exchange ideas, and even criticism.

Lesniak, however, has had a particular criticism to bring to light, and he’s expressed his disappointment with the online gambling marketing in New Jersey has been “amateurish” so far. This according to New Jersey State Senator Raymond Lesniak, who is attending the iGaming North America Conference campaigns from the web based gambling sites in his state to this point. According to the Online Poker Report website, their representative Chris Grove was attending a panel discussion which featured Senator Lesniak, as he was the architect of New Jersey’s iGaming law.

The statement was recorded by Grove who was live tweeting during the panel discussion, and who later followed up via Skype:

Wow. Lesniak says iGaming marketing in NJ has been “amateurish” so far. Chides operators for their wasteful efforts

.Lesniak says he’s been turned off from iGaming by marketing. Says casinos need to show comps, echo AC in marketing

.Lesniak wants to see more convergence between offline and online. Thinks casinos are dropping the marketing ball

Following up on these sentiments later, Steve Ruddock from NJ.com noted a few of the online gambling marketing efforts in the state, beginning with Party Poker, whom he states is the only operator that has put a clear emphasis on their marketing efforts. They have been the leader of the pack when it comes to their social media presence, with over 3,000 followers on their US Twitter account.

Then there is the Borgata, which operates on the same network as Party Poker. They have done a “decent” job with advertising And while less aggressive with their online gambling marketing than Party Poker, Borgata primarily focuses on their brick-&-mortar property and tries to connect it with their online poker room and casino. But to give credit where credit is due, they now have over 7,000 followers on Twitter.
