It’s official! Regulated sports betting has come to Kansas, making them the 35th state to pass legislation to legalize the activity. Industry insiders believe that Kansas sports betting will be up and running in time for this years NFL season. The Hollywood Casino in Kansas City, run by Penn National Gaming, say they plan to launch retail and mobile sports betting the first day they are legally permitted. American Gambling Revenue Hits All-Time Record
The month of March just set a new all-time American gambling revenue record, bringing in $5.31 billion from slot machines, table games, sports betting and even online gambling! This brings the first quarter nationwide revenue totals for the first quarter of this year to over $14.3 billion, just short of the single-quarter revenue record set in the fourth quarter of last year. March revenue was up 18.5% from the same time last year, when most casinos were operating at or near full capacity.
