The Palms Casino and Texas Station May Not Reopen

Some Las Vegas icons may not survive the Coronavirus shutdown, as Red Rock Resorts announced their Palms Casino, as well as Texas Station, Fiesta Henderson and Fiesta Rancho properties may not reopen. Nevada Casinos will Suffer Until Coronavirus Vaccine

Even as Nevada casinos fight their way back, the President of the Las Vegas Sands believes the economic hardships will continue until a vaccine is developed for COVID-19. Vegas Casinos Fear Coronavirus Lawsuits

Casinos in Las Vegas reopened just two months ago, but fears of Coronavirus lawsuits have them concerned a different sort of closure could be ahead. Now, the Nevada Resort Association is pushing lawmakers for legislation that will protect casinos from “unfounded” legal action against them related to COVID-19. The Resort Association said businesses that are “working responsibly and in good faith” should not be subjected to costly litigation. Since the June 4th reopening, casinos and resorts did implement safety plans with measures such as enhanced cleaning, social distancing guidelines and employee and guest temperature checks. Nevada Regulators Seek Fines for Face Mask Issues

The Nevada Gaming Control Board recently investigated complaints against casinos over health and safety concerns, specifically in regard to face mask issues. Now, they have released the specific violations and the names and properties. The complaints in each case allege that during repeat visits held several days apart, state inspectors saw employees and patrons without face coverings or wearing them improperly.
