The French sports betting brand ParionsSport has agreed a deal to become a partner for the first regular-season NBA game in France. The Charlotte Hornets and the Milwaukee Bucks will face off in the NBA Paris Game 2020 at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris on January 24, 2020. As part of the deal, ParionsSport will offer customers experiences such as VIP access to the game and meet and greets with former NBA players. A coalition of eighteen state tribes have put forth a proposal for legal California sports betting. Calling it the Sports Wagering Regulation and Unlawful Gambling Enforcement Act, the measure would be put to voters at the November 2020 elections. It also aims to amend the state constitution to legalize betting on sports at some locations, including Tribal casinos and licensed racetracks, and set a 10% gross revenue tax on licensees. The time is approaching for the DOJ Wire Act appeal to get started. Briefs are due by November 12, and we may soon get a look at how the case will proceed. After the deadline on the 12th, appellees will have 30 days to file a brief in response. If all parties adhere to deadlines and take no exceptions for holidays, this puts the final brief in the hands of the Appeals Court by January 2.
