Betting on Sports in Illinois Not Ready by NFL Season
State residents hoping to place a wager on the Bears game will be disappointed to hear that betting on sports in Illinois this year is almost certainly not possible. In fact, legal sports bets probably won’t be available until the Super Bowl in February. This according to state Rep. Mike Zalewski, one of the architects of the state gambling expansion signed last week. In the meantime, brick-and-mortar gambling establishments will be partnering up with sports wagering companies to design in-house sports books, Zalewski said. Professional teams with 17,000-plus capacity stadiums — all the city’s major teams — will be eligible…

No New York Online Poker in 2019
The third year of pushing New York online poker legislation was not a charm as the state legislature made no effort at all to push for regulation in 2019. Voters may get to decide to legalize Nebraska casinos in an election next year. Neighboring Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and South Dakota all allow commercial casinos. “Hundreds of millions of dollars go across the border every year,” said Lance Morgan, the CEO of Ho-Chunk Inc., the corporation pushing the measure on the tribe’s behalf. “For a Nebraskan to do gaming, you have to go half a mile. It’s…
