After months of waiting, Pennsylvania online sports betting is finally available! SugarHouse Casino began live testing of its mobile sports betting app product after receiving approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board The advent of Internet sports wagering in the state has been months in the making. SugarHouse becomes just the first of many coming dominoes to fall in the state. All eight of the current sportsbooks in the state are expected to offer Pennsylvania online sports betting by this summer. Circa Sportsbook to Open at The D & Golden Gate
Las Vegas casino owner Derek Stevens has announced the introduction of Circa Sportsbook venture that will debut on Fremont Street in Las Vegas very soon. The Nevada Gaming Commission unanimously approved Stevens’ Circa Sports license. The new venue will be launching it’s first location at the Golden Gate Casino on June 1st, 2019, and will be open every day between 8am and 11pm. DraftKings West Virginia Betting App
DraftKings is ready for the soft-launch a their sports betting app this week. The app should go live at the Hollywood Casino in Charles Town and bringing mobile wagering back to West Virginia. Local news outlet WV MetroNews reported on Wednesday citing information from state gambling regulators that the Lottery has tested the new wagering app with DraftKings this week and that the app has passed all the tests. Congress Considers Changes to Slot Winnings Tax
The American Gaming Association has recognized Representative Dina Titus and Darin LaHood for her campaigns towards raising the threshold for reporting slot winnings tax from $1,200 to $5,000. Under federal law, casino patrons were previously obliged to report any slot machine winnings upwards of $1,200 or more, while the machine was removed from the casino and the patron signs a W-2G tax reporting form. Following the work of Titus and LaHood, the threshold of which patrons now have to report winnings would be pushed upwards of $5,000. A PartyPoker Nevada return looks to be in the cards as their parent company, GVC Holdings, received the state gaming commissioners approval on their license application today The online gaming portion of GVC’s application hints at the fact that the gambling giant could be gearing up to introduce its PartyPoker brand to the Silver State’s regulated market.
