Las Vegas’ Secret Airline

Sin City has many secrets, but many visitors completely miss Las Vegas’ secret airline on display right in front of them! These government aircraft hide in plain sight, flying in and out of Vegas several times every day. However, you can’t book a ticket or even visit the terminal. So what is “Janet Airlines”? Who flies on their planes? And where are they going? I am standing in front of the Janet terminal, which is just about half a mile from the Vegas Strip, across from Mandalay Bay. If you don’t know what the Janet terminal is, I highly recommend…

Las Vegas NBA Arena at Rio?

It seems Sin City cannot get enough when it comes to professional sports. Now there are rumors of a Las Vegas NBA arena set to be built near Rio Las Vegas. If true, that would be a step toward getting an NBA franchise, either by relocation or (more likely) league expansion in the near future. But can we trust these rumors? I mean, it’s not like they haven’t been circulating for years. Sources at some reliable blogs are sharing that the Oak View Group is moving forward with plans for this Las Vegas NBA. A Look at Surging Las Vegas Prices

Sin City was once celebrated for its affordability, but in recent times Las Vegas prices have transformed into one of the most expensive cities to visit in America. Rising costs for lodging, dining, and entertainment are increasingly impacting tourists. Historically a budget-friendly destination, Vegas has shifted its focus from economical stays to luxury experiences. Coupled with the pandemic, these changes have led to skyrocketing prices. A recent study by Forbes Advisor highlights this trend: over the past…

Leagues Not Fans of Federal Sports Betting Bill

Back in June of this year we published a video with details on a federal sports betting bill being proposed here in America. The Supporting Affordability and Fairness with Every Bet Act, or as it has become know The SAFE Bet Act, is now getting some less than enthusiastic reactions from the likes of the NFL and NBA, who are concerned that the advertising restrictions put forth on the bill would cut into their profits. The SAFE Bet Act would introduce several measures to limit sportsbook advertising, prohibiting it from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and during live sports events….

DraftKings and FanDuel Sued by Baseball Players

Ten years ago, sports leagues hated gambling. Five years ago, leagues embraced gambling Now, DraftKings and FanDuel are being sued by one of the leagues players union. Strange days indeed, as John Lennon once wrote. So what’s the issue? As is the case so many times it all boils down to money. Not so peculiar, mama. Major League Baseball’s players union filed a lawsuit in federal and state courts, accusing both DraftKings and FanDuel of using images of nearly all active MLB players on their websites and mobile apps without obtaining permission. The players are seeking both compensatory and punitive…

Update to Renovations at the Rio Las Vegas

We’ve been following the renovations at the Rio Las Vegas for quite a while. And now, the property has announced that the initial phase of the upgrades has been completed. This is an ongoing project which began back in 2023, and may take another year or two for completion. In fact, we visited the resort back in May of this year to have a look around, and you can find that video below.   In this first phase, significant upgrades were made. This included the introduction of eight new dining options, a complete overhaul of the 220,000 square feet of…
