Press Association wins new Horse Racing Ireland contract

horse racingiGaming Business – UK multimedia news agency and digital content supplier Press Association (PA) has been named as the horseracing data supplier for the Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) governing body’s Form Book.

The three-year extension of the deal comes shortly after PA also secured the contract to supply HRI with a headlines package of international and domestic Irish racing news for use on the governing body’s website.

In 2012, PA also secured a three-year contract for the international distribution rights to HRI’s Irish racecards.

Jim Donnelley, director for racing and betting at PA, said the agency was “delighted” to have completed the new deal.

“It not only strengthens our existing relationship with the racing body but also promotes our position within the racing industry as the supplier of HRI Form Book racing information,” he said.

Jason Morris, director of racing at HRI, added: “HRI decided to outsource the production of form book data, both for cost reasons and also so that our GoRacing.ie website would carry up-to-date comments after each race, and we were delighted to select PA as our supplier following a competitive process.”
