Amaya Appeals Kentucky $870 Million Fine

Canadian gaming giant Amaya has filed a notice of appeal against a Kentucky court order to pay $870 million (€794 million) in damages for subsidiary PokerStars’ allegedly illegal operations in the US state between 2006 and 2011. Amaya said that it has filed a $100 million supersedeas bond to stay enforcement of the order “during the pendency of the appeals process”. Dutch regulator send ‘clear signal’ with Global Stars fine

iGaming Business – Kansspelautoriteit, the Dutch gambling regulator, has fined online gaming provider Global Stars €100,000 ($132,000) for targeting consumers in the Netherlands without a licence to operate in the country. The watchdog said that the Curaçao-based company established a service that focused on the Dutch market through the Myglobalgames.com, Boekjesbingo.nl and Myglobalgames.nl websites between June 2012 and May 2013.
