The Heart Attack Grill, an iconic and controversial staple of downtown Las Vegas, has officially shut its doors. The restaurant closed abruptly on May 18, 2026, ending a fourteen-year run inside the Neonopolis mall on Fremont Street. The establishment had been operating at the location since October 2011. $24 Million Four Queens Renovation Wraps Up
The Four Queens renovation of the North Tower in downtown Las Vegas has been completed, marking the end of a $24 million upgrade that began in June 2024. The project was finished on time and within budget, introducing significant improvements to the hotel-casino’s guest accommodations. The renovation included a full replacement of the North Tower’s HVAC and plumbing systems, along with complete remodeling of all 300 guest rooms. Updates include sound-dampening windows, larger bathrooms, new carpeting and furnishings, 50-inch televisions, mini-fridges, in-room coffee makers, and custom closet organizers. The El Cortez Hotel & Casino just rolled out their finished renovation project on February 20th, including three new food and beverage outlets. Even the mayor showed up, as the property is the longest continuously open hotel and casino in the city. The expansion was completed in partnership with McCarthy Building Companies.
