The Golden Gate Casino marked its 120th anniversary this month, reaching a milestone as the oldest continuously operating hotel and casino in Las Vegas while undergoing a significant shift in its gaming operations. The Christmas season may be the most wonderful time of the year, but it will also the time for the Golden Gate Casino on Fremont Street to shut down for a week. The down town landmark will temporarily shut down this month for renovations before welcoming guests again just in time for the holidays.
