The Christmas season may be the most wonderful time of the year, but it will also the time for the Golden Gate Casino on Fremont Street to shut down for a week. The down town landmark will temporarily shut down this month for renovations before welcoming guests again just in time for the holidays. The Golden Gate Casino and Hotel celebrated 115 years on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas yesterday. The property is owned and managed by Circa Resorts. Circa owner Derek Stevens celebrated the anniversary Friday and credited their work with Golden Gate as preparing his team to develop other downtown properties, The D and the newly opened Circa Resort and Casino. Since its opening in 1906, the property saw many renovations, but it has kept its vintage charm and there are still 10 original rooms available for guests to book.
