Indiana sports betting has been kicking ass with as another record month of revenue in October. Sports books in the state measured $230 million last month, according to data from the Gaming Commission. Even in the face of the pandemic there were new highs in revenue and handle as colleges and professional teams played a more normal sports schedule. Indiana Sports Betting Starts Today

Just in time for the NFL season, Indiana sports betting is up and running! Three sites within the state have been approved for emergency rules that will allow them to offer sports betting on September 1st, with two additional casinos following next week. Indiana Sports Betting Launch Possibly Delayed

Hoosiers may have wait a little longer than expected for the Indiana sports betting launch. Gaming Commission Executive Director Sara Gonso Tait said last week that state regulators might not be ready by September 1st to allow sports betting, even though a law approved earlier this year makes it legal beginning on that date. Tait said commission members are aiming to have everything in place to start on time but can make no promises. Governor Legalizes Indiana Sports Betting

Indiana sports betting will become legal under a bill signed by the governor this week. That bill also approves the construction of two new land based casinos in the state. Republican Eric Holcomb signed off on the legislation in the final hours left to act, after lawmakers reached a deal just before the close of this year’s state legislative session. So far 2019 has been good for sports betting reform, as Indiana joins Montana and Tennessee in moving to legalize the activity. Another Hope for Mobile Indiana Sports Betting

After disagreement over the possibility of remote gambling, mobile Indiana sports betting is looking more and more like a real possibility. The state conference committee is reinserting provisions for the apps into the bill as it approaches the finish line. Disagreements across chambers primarily involved non-sports aspects of the bill concerning adjustments to casino licenses and location. As expected, most of Monday’s hearing orbited around those provisions. Mobile was one of the few sticking points within the sports betting language.
