Democratic Party candidate Andy Beshear, who pledged to legalize commercial casinos, sports betting and Kentucky online gambling if elected, has won Kentucky’s gubernatorial election. He won in the state’s main population centers, claiming Jefferson County, which includes Louisville, by almost 100,000 votes, as well as Fayette County, including the city of Lexington, by more than 35,000 votes. Kentucky settles with Bwin in $15m agreement

From iGaming Business The state of Kentucky has announced that it has settled a case with online gambling company bwin in an agreement worth $15m (Eur11.5m). In accepting the payment from bwin, the state said the result related to civil filings in August 2010 “to recover online gambling losses by Kentucky residents” prior to the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA). Kentucky gets $6 million in online poker case

From Courier-Journal Kentucky officials announced Wednesday that the state is receiving $6.075 million in an online poker case settlement. Kentucky officials filed a lawsuit in 2008 to seize 141 domain names that it alleged were involved in illegal internet gambling in the state. Later, Kentucky joined lawsuits filed by federal prosecutors against some of the same internet domain names in the Kentucky case. The settlement is between Kentucky and those prosecutors, the state announced. Gov.
