State BCI agents along with the Medina County Sheriff’s Office made Internet gambling arrests after they raided two alleged illegal gambling establishments Tuesday morning. The owner was arrested. The raids were at Cyber City on Medina Road in Medina and at Cyber 777′s on Pearl Road in Brunswick. “These are not internet cafes,” said Attorney General Mike DeWine. “The joint investigation shows that these locations are operating as illegal casinos with no regulatory oversight.” The owner of the businesses was taken into custody. From Dutch News Social media site Facebook has agreed to stop adverts for gambling sites targeting its Dutch users, according to the Dutch gambling authority Kansspelautoriteit. Facebook has agreed to ‘conform to Dutch legislation which states it is not allowed to encourage illegal gambling’, the authority said in a statement. From Chicago Business Language on a long-expected proposal to bring widespread Internet gambling to Illinois finally has surfaced in Springfield, and by all indications the plan will be both highly lucrative and highly controversial.
