In a case that has enormous implications for online gambling in America, the US Department of Justice lost their Wire Act appeal against the New Hampshire Lottery Commission. The First Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of New Hampshire, upholding the decision of a lower court and driving a nail in the Justice Department newest interpretation of the law. Pennsylvania Online Gambling & Sports Betting Records
In the face of the Coronavirus, Pennsylvania online gambling and betting on sports set new records! Despite that bit of good news, however, overall income from gaming was down for the state year-on-year due to the pandemic. Total gambling revenue in November amounted to $283.3 million, a drop of nearly 3% from the same time last year. The numbers were also 11.5% lower than the figures posted in October, this according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Record October for New Jersey Online Gambling
Coronavirus may have slowed them down a bit, but New Jersey online gambling revenue has rebounded nicely for October! Internet betting sites in the state were able to bring in well over $90 million which set a new record. Bets on sporting events was also up nearly 30%. Poker was not as lucky. Revenue has been seeing a downward trend for months, but drop did slow. But online casinos did well, with the Golden Nugget increasing revenue 8.2%.
