Louisiana Contemplates Legalizing Online Poker
From Poker Listings Louisiana is the latest state to express interest in legalizing online poker. Rep. Mike Huval has asked the state’s house committee to perform a study that will examine the option of legalizing online poker and online gambling Louisiana. ”Louisiana has the potential to benefit economically by legalizing Internet gaming,” said Huval in his proposal statement. Huval argued that online gambling could potentially bring millions in revenue to the state and provide a safer environment for Louisiana residents to gamble. The New Full Tilt Poker: Six Months On
From Poker Fuse At midday on Thursday, November 6, Full Tilt Poker was successfully relaunched under new management. As part of Rational Group’s settlement with the US Department of Justice, $186 million, the sum of all non-US player deposits prior to Full Tilt’s closure, was returned to poker players. It could be immediately withdrawn, transferred to PokerStars or—as the new FTP management hoped—left online and used to play on the relaunched site.
