iGaming Business – Online gaming software provider NYX Interactive, a subsidiary of the NYX Gaming Group, has been granted a remote and non-remote operating licence for the supply of gambling software in the UK market. The new legislation amends the 2005 Gambling Act and will enable the Gambling Commission licensing system to cover all UK remote gambling operators. UK gambling figures show fall in National Lottery participation

Gaming Intelligence – Survey results released this week by the UK Gambling Commission reveal a small rise in gambling participation levels, with 56 per cent of respondents having participated in at least one form of gambling in the previous four weeks, up from 55 per cent of respondents in March 2013. Land-based gambling continues to account for the lion’s share of activity, with 71 per cent of those gambling in the past four weeks doing so offline, while 16 per cent of respondents said that they gambled online, up from 15 per cent a year ago. UK gambling regulator to issue guidance on ‘gambling software’

Out-Law.com – The Gambling Commission has set out plans to ensure that the manufacture, supply, installation and adaption of gambling software is only carried out by holders of gambling software licences. However, in a slight softening of previous proposals, the regulator said that it will not require “each and every business within an extended supply chain to hold a gambling software licence”.
