Horse Racing in Utah: “Serious Concerns” says Governor

In a “shocking” announcement, Governor Gary Herbert said he does not support horse racing in Utah, or the bill submitted there to regulate parimutuel betting. Senator David Hinkins filed the bill, and it would allow counties to decide whether they want to allow betting on horse racing or not. Utah May Legalize Horse Race Betting

A Utah lawmaker rolled out a bill seeking to legalize horse race betting, despite the fact that gambling is for the time being illegal in Utah. The new bill called SB181 is sponsored by Senator David Hinkins.
