Vegas Casino Offers Workers Cash for Vaccinations

Casinos in Sin City are desperate to get to 100% occupancy levels. Now, one Vegas casino is willing to incentivize their employees with cash if they will get the Coronavirus vaccination. The Cosmopolitan is putting their money where their mouth is and offering up to $1 million in bonus cash for their workers who receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Those bonuses will kick in once the staff reaches a 60% vaccination rate. Once 60% of Cosmopolitan employees have been vaccinated, workers who received the shot will receive a $50 bonus. Nevada gaming board bans casino licensees from medical marijuana trade

Las Vegas Review Journal – The Gaming Control Board told its license holders Tuesday they cannot participate in the state’s potential medical marijuana business. In an industry notice posted to the Control Board’s website, the agency, which is charged with licensing and regulating the state’s casinos and gambling equipment providers, said the federal government views distribution, possession and sale of marijuana as a crime. “Accordingly, unless the federal law is changed, the board does not believe investment or other involvement in a medical marijuana facility or establishment by a person who has received a gaming approval or applied for a…

Two factors produced the biggest smiles for investors in Las Vegas casino publicly traded companies as they pored over their earnings reports this quarter.
