Vegas Casinos Accept Canadian Dollars as US

A group of prominent downtown Vegas casinos has announced a new initiative to accept the Canadian dollar at par with the American dollar. The promotion, which began this week and is scheduled to run through August 31, 2026, aims to reverse a sharp decline in international tourism from the north. The three participating properties are Circa Resort and Casino, The D Las Vegas, and Golden Gate Casino. Under the new At Par program, eligible Canadian visitors will receive one U.S. dollar in value for every one Canadian dollar spent on specific services. This move effectively removes the current exchange rate…

Vegas Casinos Not Accepting ‘Other’ Chips

Several major Vegas casinos on the Strip will soon stop accepting poker chips from competing resorts, marking a shift in long-standing industry practices. The change, set to take effect on August 1, means players will no longer be able to cash out or exchange chips from other properties at certain casino cages. The decision comes after incidents involving counterfeit chips and concerns over security and accountability. Previously, it was not uncommon for casinos to honor each other’s poker chips, particularly for regular patrons who moved between properties. That practice, however, has gradually faded in recent years as casino operators adopted…

China’s largest gambling hub is an island called Macau. And the latest surge of Coronavirus there has resulted in the government locking down the area and shutting down the casinos. Las Vegas Casinos Can Go Face Mask Free

As Las Vegas casinos reach their vaccination goals and begin to fully reopen, the Nevada Gaming Control Board has decided that the casinos can each set their individual face mask policies. The move comes as the Centers for Disease Control announcement that people who have been vaccinated don’t need to wear face coverings, even if they are indoors. However, that does not necessarily mean that inoculated people can go anywhere without a mask. Casinos are also free to continue the face mask requirements for their guests if they choose to do so. A spokesperson for the Gaming Control Board said…
