New Vegas Strike Threat for Super Bowl

Wait… what? Didn’t we just have a Las Vegas strike? Well, sort of. There was the threat of a strike just before the big Formula 1 race back in November, but a last minute deal was able to avert a possible logistical disaster. This time the threat of a strike is just before the Super Bowl, so we have a couple of weeks to work all this out. Don’t get us wrong: The possibility of a Vegas strike is quite real. In fact, the Union has already set a date of February 2nd for their 8,000 workers to walk out….

Vegas Strike Averted as Agreements Reached

Yesterday we reported that Caesars Entertainment has reached an agreement with the Union to avoid a Vegas strike. Today we can share that Wynn and MGM Resorts have also come to an agreement with workers to avoid a work stoppage. Union representatives reported earlier today that a “tentative agreement” had been reached with the two remaining resorts that will get employees new new five-year contracts, narrowly missing today’s 5am deadline. The 11th hour deal to avoid a Las Vegas strike comes just days before the Las Vegas Grand Prix is scheduled to begin, with the 100,000 tourists expected to come…
