Wyoming Sports Betting Passed at Last

Well, it wasn’t easy. Finally, however, we can welcome Wyoming sports betting to the regulated majority. With Wyoming passing legislation, there are now 26 states where betting on sporting events is legal. Previous efforts to pass a sports betting bill failed. The Wyoming’s Gambling Commission will regulate the betting. The commission will now begin to work on the regulatory framework which is expected no later than September 1st. No Cigar! Wyoming Sports Betting Fails

The hope of Wyoming sports betting has been voted down by the state House of Representatives by a vote of 32-27. The bill is now dead, and so is sports betting in the state for 2020. Sponsored by Representative Tom Walters and Senator Ogden Driskill, HB 0225 had focused on legalizing online and mobile sports wagering, with the aim of opening a regulated market no later than January 1, 2021.
