Detroit Lions Partner with MGM Resorts

Gaming and hospitality firm MGM Resorts International has announced that its MGM Grand Detroit subsidiary has entered into a long-term agreement with NFL American football team the Detroit Lions. Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, the two parties will work together to build a luxurious space at the team’s Ford Field home stadium.

The ‘MGM Grand Detroit Tunnel Club’ will accommodate more than 100 fans and guests of the casino during Lions’ home matches and stadium events. Those in attendance at the new facility will have access to an up-close view of Lions players leaving and entering the locker room, while other amenities on offer include a corner lounge celebrating Detroit and early stadium access.

The lower bowl in the west end zone area of the stadium is also being extended to include field level seating for tunnel club members. MGM Resorts International is an American global hospitality and entertainment company operating destination resorts in Las Vegas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Maryland, Ohio, and New Jersey, including Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, and Park MGM.

The company began operations in 1987 as MGM Grand, Inc. and became MGM Mirage in 2000, after acquiring Mirage Resorts. In the mid-2000s, growth of its non-gaming (lodging, food, retail) revenue began to outpace gaming receipts and demand for high-rise condominiums was surging, with median property prices in Las Vegas twice the national average.
