Vegas Casino Workers Require to Wear Masks Again

Maybe we’re moving toward recovery too fast? Maybe, as the Clark County Commission has decided it’s time for Las Vegas casino workers to mask-up again. They voted to reinstate masks for employees only (for now) while they are on duty indoors at casinos, stores, and clubs. Actually, it;s not completely accurate to lay this decision on the Commission exclusively. They made this move after several casinos decided on their own to place mask mandates on their employees. In fact, the Venetian has returned to mandatory weekly testing of employees. This decision was somewhat predictable, given the recent rise in Coronavirus…

Despite multiple years and millions of dollars fighting online gambling, the Sands Corporation has stated that the company is “…determined to grow its leadership position” for digital gaming within the industry. The announcement comes as the company has hired Davis Catlin, who joins the company after spending the past fourteen years at an investment firm. Their ambition is to grow technologies in the business-to-business space of digital gaming. Despite online gaming being around for over two decades, the Sands stated that “Digital gaming and other related offerings are still very much in the early stages of development…”, and we hope…

Multi-Million Dollar Caesars Palace Renovation

Construction is set to begin on a huge Caesars Palace renovation of their main entrance, lobby and gaming areas originally build in 1966. So, I guess you could say this has been a long time coming. Work begins this month and will most likely be finished just in time for the New Year’s Eve festivities. Two brand new gaming pits will flank the new main entrance, which will be completely redesigned to make arriving…

New Revenue Record for Nevada Casinos

Nevada casinos have come roaring back after the Coronavirus pandemic had them closed for a significant time last year. Now, all casinos have set a record in May by winning $1.23 billion. It’s the highest single-month win in the state’s history, blowing past a $1.165 billion record set in October 2007. The record win came before tourist-reliant Nevada on June 1 lifted virtually all restrictions on crowds and business capacity statewide. The casino’s take has topped $1 billion for three months in a row. Even before the restrictions lifted in June, tourists were again flocking to Las Vegas casinos, and…

Casinos and Sports Betting Push Betting Recovery

With the pandemic (hopefully) in the rear view mirror, several forms of gambling across America are starting to come back to life. In Mississippi, for instance, casinos are up over 20% from last year, bringing in over $1 billion. The rise is attributed to increased travel and tourism to the state. The Director of Marketing for the Tourism Bureau said that visitors are the lifeblood of Mississippi’s coastal region. Meanwhile in Kentucky, gambling revenue has already surpassed last year’s fiscal totals by bringing in $1.45 billion. Residents there love scratch-off tickets, and they continue to outpace all other forms of…
