Nebraska Sports Betting and Gambling Expansion

Congratulations are in order as Nebraska sports betting has become the latest to join the regulated market! And while we are happy that betting on sports continues to expand, we cannot help but be a little disappointed that wagers will not be allowed online. Governor Pete Ricketts signed the legislation, which not only legalized betting on sports in the state, but also allowed for the expansion of casino gambling. Horse tracks in the state will now be permitted to offer “Las Vegas style” games, which we hope includes slots, craps, roulette, blackjack, and video poker. Initially, the Governor was opposed…

Las Vegas Buffets Return

As the world recovers from the pandemic, one sign of normalcy is the return of Las Vegas buffets at the MGM Grand and Caesars Palace. Beginning this week, guests at the MGM Grand will be able to eat to their hearts content, provided it’s between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Thursday through Monday. Their buffet will feature breakfast, lunch and a brunch selection on the weekends. Last week, Caesars got their buffet up and running again. Nevada Regulator: All COVID Restrictions End June 1st

Several weeks ago, Governor Steve Sisolak promised his state would be fully open by June 1st. Now, Nevada regulators confirm that all restrictions in place for the Coronavirus will end that date. The Nevada Gaming Control Board has confirmed that at midnight, June 1st, “…none of Nevada’s counties will retain social distancing or occupancy limitations that would apply to a gaming licensee.” The timing of this announcement could have been better, as a big three-day weekend is coming for Las Vegas. And the 1st of June will come right at the end (Tuesday) of the Memorial Day holiday. The Control…

Fiesta Henderson has received approval to keep their doors closed for at least the rest of the year. The news is even worse for Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho. Stations is seeking approval to keep the casinos closed for at least another year… all the way to June 4th, 2022. Station Casinos cited the “uncertain economic conditions” across the state associated with the tourism industry. However, they have opened…

Nevada Casinos Legislation on Carrying Guns

Believe it or not, it seems you can open carry a gun in Nevada casinos. But if you do, you may not be welcomed. And a new bill in the state legislature could change the way these situations are handled. Right now, casino representatives must confront guests with firearms to ask them to disarm or leave. If they refuse to do either then the police are usually called. However, Senate Bill 452 would change all that. The new bill, MGM Resorts, would end confrontations between guests and resorts staff by allowing employees to call the police as a first option….

There had been rumors of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians could be a suitor. However, they just completed a purchase of the Las Vegas Palms for $650 million. Caesars CEO Tom Reeg said that…
