Intralot awarded New Mexico contract extension
The US division of Greek-owned gaming and lottery operator Intralot has been awarded a contract extension to operate its online lottery gaming system in the state of New Mexico. Tatts Confident of Positive Full-Year Performance
Australian gaming company Tatts has reported a slight fall in net profit in the six months through to December 31, but remains confident of its full-year results, according to the Australian newspaper. The report said that Tatts generated a net profit from ordinary activities of Aus$121.97 million (€79.7 million/$109.4 million) – a 5% fall from Aus$128.32 million in the corresponding period of 2012. However, the figures excluded revenue from Tatts’ now-discontinued Victorian operations. MGM China Lifts Overall 2013 Quarter 4 Performance
Las Vegas Review Journal – MGM Resorts International ended 2013 on an upbeat note. Chairman Jim Murren told investors Wednesday that 2014 is off to an equally good beginning. The casino company, which operates 10 resorts on the Strip, said it reduced its fourth-quarter net loss while growing revenue 9.5 percent during the three-month period that ended Dec. 31. Florida casino to reopen tonight with poker, slot machines
South Florida – Dania Casino & Jai Alai opens to the public at 9 p.m. Thursday. The newly renovated casino will have 550 state-of-the-art slot machines, a 12 table glass walled poker room, simulcast, a bistro and lounge bar and live jai-alai. Celebrities in attendance will include Miss Deco Drive and Argentinian talk show host and actress Susana Giménez. Card Player – Some lawmakers in the state of New Jersey want casinos in Atlantic City to beef up their security. According to Press of Atlantic City, a recent case of assault in a stairwell at a casino there has prompted a legislative initiative that would require casinos to have plenty of surveillance in parking garages, including their stairwells. Las Vegas Review Journal – Someone claiming to be the hackers who knocked Las Vegas Sands Corp. off the Internet for nearly a week has posted an 11-minute video purporting to show stolen internal company information and taunting the international casino operator.
