Horse bets in Hong Kong reached a record $12.1 billion in the past season as the race organizers poured wine and hosted concerts to attract younger punters to its events. Revenue in the 2012/13 season rose 9 percent from a year earlier, surpassing the previous record set in the 1996/97 season, Hong Kong Jockey Club said in a statement on its website. GTECH agrees American lottery renewals

iGaming Business – Global lottery and gaming giant GTECH SpA has announced the signing of a pair of contract extensions with American state lotteries that could see it earn revenues of up to $67m. Atlantic City Casino Revenue Worst in 2 Decades

This year is shaping up to be the worst for the Atlantic City casino industry in the last 22 years. Figures released Wednesday by the state Division of Gaming Enforcement show the city’s 12 casinos are on a pace that would see them take in less than $3 billion from gamblers for the first time since 1991. For the first six months of the year, the casinos won $1.38 billion, down 10.7 percent from the same period last year. Caesars shares soared as much as 14% in strong volume Wednesday after it said in a regulatory filing it’s moving ahead with plans to split the company in two. Caesars, the biggest owner of casinos in the U.S., will offer as much as $1.18 billion in stock to fund its emerging online gambling business.
