GTECH agrees American lottery renewals

lotto 2iGaming Business – Global lottery and gaming giant GTECH SpA has announced the signing of a pair of contract extensions with American state lotteries that could see it earn revenues of up to $67m.

Previously known as Gruppo Lottomatica SpA, GTECH revealed that it has finalised a three-year agreement to continue providing the Kentucky Lottery with technology and related services through to July of 2021.

“The Kentucky Lottery also exercised an option in its existing contract with GTECH allowing for the company to provide equipment and services for keno,” read a statement from GTECH.

“Keno is expected to be introduced in retailer locations later this year. The number of retail locations offering keno in Kentucky is expected to grow to 700 over time.”

In addition, GTECH has finalised a two-year deal to carry on providing the Wisconsin Lottery with technology and related support services through to June of 2015.

GTECH stated that the extension in Kentucky will see it receive revenues of approximately $40m while it expects to earn $25m to $27m from the deal with the Wisconsin Lottery.
