Wynn reconsiders online gaming after New Jersey approval
Las Vegas Review Journal – New Jersey gaming regulators have given Wynn Resorts Ltd. approval to offer an Internet wagering website within the state’s boundaries, but a spokesman for the Las Vegas-based casino operator said the company’s online gambling efforts are on hold. Wynn Resorts spokesman Michael Weaver said Monday that the company, which is headed by Steve Wynn, doesn’t view online gaming “to be a good entrepreneurial opportunity. Gambling companies hit by Google updates
iGaming Business – International digital marketing agency Stickyeyes has revealed that the online visibility of a number of gambling companies has suffered due to two key algorithm updates by internet search engine Google. In its latest online gambling and betting report, the agency said the brands that were among the most visible in 2012 lost “significant organic visibility” in Google searches last year after the search engine giant installed major updates. Israeli operator launches online sports betting system
iGaming Business – The Israel Sports Betting Board (ISBB), the exclusive rights operator for sports betting in the country, has launched a new online betting system in partnership with UK sports betting software provider LVS and its French counterpart, lottery solutions specialist Lotsys. The launch comes after LVS and Lotsys won a tender to supply their Advanced Betting and Lottery Platform technology (ABP) to ISBB in the form of a customised ABP platform comprising a sportsbook, transactional engine, web and mobile site. Philly.com – A new poll finds more New Jersey residents want to smoke pot than gamble over the Internet. A Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll finds 41 percent of respondents would support smoking marijuana recreationally if it became legal. That compares with only 32 percent who support gambling over the Internet, which is legal in New Jersey now.
