No European expansion for SkyBet
From iGaming Business – Richard Flint, chief executive of SkyBet, the online gaming subsidiary of UK pay-television broadcaster BSkyB, has confirmed to iGaming Business that the firm has no plans to expand into other European territories. The advent of Internet gambling in New Jersey has left a British online gambling firm placing a bet on Atlantic City with plans to build or buy a resort casino. London-based 2UP Gaming PLC is in negotiations to purchase an Atlantic City casino. 37 firms apply for New Jersey Internet gambling license
From APP – Thirty-seven firms have applied to get a piece of the legal Internet gambling when it’s launched in New Jersey later this year. The state Gaming Enforcement Division says it received the applications by Monday’s deadline. The names of the firms won’t be made public by the state until they are approved. Under a law signed this year, casinos with a physical presence in Atlantic City will be allowed to offer online betting in November.
